Today The Simpsons was born and so was Milla Jovovich

Let's start on the uplifting story today, because we all just realized it's not even hump day yet. In Texas an officer of the law handed out something that isn't reported about often. Compassion, a still unnamed officer pulled over Hayden Carlo for speeding. When asked about his lack of a valid registration Carlo fessed up saying "there's no explanation for why I haven't done it, except I don't have the money. It was either feed my kids or get this registration done." So the officer handed him a ticket. "Where's the damn compassion you're talking about?" You ask because you didn't follow the link. Well I appreciate you're attention to my blog. The compassion part came after Carlo unrolled the ticket to find Mr. Franklin looking right back at him. That's right, the police officer issued the ticket but also gave the man a $100 bill. With the money, Carlo straightened up his registration as well as his wife's and notified the Police Department about the officer's kind gesture.
The Department said the officer prefers to remain unnamed but that they will still be honoring him for his actions for a member of the community.

To nobody's surprise the Westboro Baptist Church threatened to protest the funerals of the Newtown Connecticut. The internet group Anonymous had something to say about it.

Anonymous posted what they claimed was the personal information for members of the Westboro Babtist Church(WBC) on Twitter. Soon after, the Twitter account and website for WBC were hacked. Anonymous also put forth a request for people to sign a petition that puts WBC's tax exempt status in question. Not only to question their tax status but also to classify them not as a religious group but a hate group. Most of us are just wondering why it took so long.

For my final paragraph(tirade) I'd like have a word about the starlet Amanda Seyfried and her quirky collection. Here's a link, in case you hadn't seen Conan give her a jetpack wearing raccon. Miss Seyfried already had a taxidermy collection and Conan talked with her for a few minutes about it. The overall reaction has been some uncomfortable shifting in seats. It seems, people find her collection to be in an outworldy weird realm. I would have to disagree. I understand that taxidermy is not something you'll find as popular as say baseball trading cards or coins, but taxidermy has been important in our society. My grandmother had to learn how to do taxidermy when she was a student in sciences. It was a way to teach people about animals, such as the taxidermied items found in our natural history museums, and it was a hands on way to teach doctors and scientists alike about dissection and anatomy. I understand that in this day and age those practices are out of date, but I would hardly call taxidermy barbaric. Taxidermy has gained a bad name because people associate it with trophies in hunting and also in ritualistic killings(which of course is a minority).

Anyhoo I'd also like to send out some support to the guys at Team Respawn for Machinima. They just started up a new channel to showcase all the in-house produced segments featuring a lot of Mr. Sark and APLFisher. I think they're hilarious and very entertaining. They do a lot of hard work so I figured I'd feature one of their videos here.
